Oh, my, lord! Jenny thought this would be a good one after watching a review of it on The View, and seeing Kirk Cameron plug the movie. She said, “it is supposed to be a good story about marriage!”
What she failed to mention, was how horrible the plot, direction, acting, and writing was. I mean downright freakin’ horrible. Did I mention the bad acting? I am still dumbfounded that Kirk Cameron actually went around and promoted this. He has to be the worst actor I have ever watched. We are talking if Steven Segal and that William Hung from American idol ever had an offspring together, that person still would be a better actor than Kirk.
And the best part, was that I still watched the whole thing, becuase it was such a train wreck, that I couldn’t turn away.
Anyone else who knows us, and has the guts to watch this movie, will laugh their butts off thinking of us sitting through it. That is assuming they don’t throw up on themselves first.
Brian, I love reading your blog and all your funny stories! But on this one I am going to have to disagree with you…not about the acting but about the movie itself and the whole purpose of it. I don’t know if you know it or not but Kirk Cameron is the only professional actor in the movie..everyone else are just members of the church there. Yes, some of the movie you kind of just have to shake your head but not about the message. Put into practice how could those principles not help a marriage? I like the spiritual part of it, but even if you don’t look at that, it is all about putting your spouse first, before yourself and not giving up. So, I love you Brian:) but I think you need to not look at the technical side of it but look at the message of the movie.
Love you and your family! Patty
Hi Aunt Patty. We are always happy to entertain!
Perhaps we’ll have to agree to disagree on one point… there is no way Kirk can be referred to as a professional actor.
As for putting your spouse first, I keep suggesting to Jenny that she do just that. But, she fell asleep before the end of the movie, so my hopes were dashed again. I’ll recommend this advice to her once more, and perhaps if we all chime in, she’ll start to put me first afterall. Thanks for the encouragement!
